Special Court POCSO Thoubal sent rapist Chinglenkhomba to jail on Thursday after he was remanded to judicial custody.
Laishram Chinglenkhomba has been in the custody of Thoubal Women police on the charges of raping an 11-year-old minor girl.
Irate students and women of Heirok stormed the Thoubal court complex on Thursday upon hearing that the rapist would be produced before the court.
Protesters chanted various slogans before the court complex saying “bail should not be granted for the rapist”, “death penalty should be rewarded for Chinglenkhomba” and “Save women and students' life”.
It may be recalled that Thoubal women police on December 4 arrested Laishram Chinglenkhomba, a married man of Heirok part III on the charge of repeatedly raping a minor girl.
