Churches across Tamenglong district celebrated Thanksgiving Day at their respective churches on Saturday.
Thanksgiving Day was kept as a special day of giving thanks for the blessings of the harvest and of the preceding year, while some churches named and celebrated it as harvest festival.
At Zeliangrong Baptist Church, Tamenglong, Pretty Lamb Institute Principal Gaidonlung Gangmei (Retd Zonal Education Officer) graced as speaker and Zeliangrong Baptist Church Pastor Reverend Aluana Gonmei read out Holy Bible and offered special thanks giving prayer.
In his message, Principal Gaidonlung Gangmei emphasised the need to express thanks and gratitude in whatever one received from God in life.
“For answering our prayers, for loving and caring for us, for the great things done for individuals or family, etc, we need to thank God.
We also ought to thank church leaders for leading us to the good way, and we need to thank our brothers and sisters”, he said.
He mentioned that God also wants and expects thankfulness and gratitude from his people.
