The apex student body of Tangkhul community, Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) congratulated Chief Minister Minister N Biren Singh for the successive tenure in Manipur and lifted the social boycott it had imposed earlier over the non-tabling of HAC ADC Bill 2021.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, TKS said it hoped the incumbent government would adopt an inclusive development policy in all respect with a special focus on the long-neglected hill areas and revoked the resolution to boycott the CM (dated December 19, 2021).
The TKS had announced a non-cooperation movement against Biren-led BJP government and boycotted the chief minister and Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly in its press release issued on 5 September, 2021.
In continuation of its press release, TKS issued another press communique on December 19, 2021 wherein it had boycotted Biren led government till the time the proposed Manipur (Hill Areas) ADC bill 2021 is tabled in the State Legislative Assembly.
Instead of addressing the standing demand of the tribal student body, the government’s decision to inaugurate Lungchong Maiphai block headquarter (LM Block) on 20 December, 2021 is highly insensitive and the same is unacceptable to the TKS, it added.
