Stolen vehicle, engines seized; two arrested in Imphal East

A team of special commando unit arrested two vehicle lifters and seized one two-wheeler (Apache), including different vehicle engines from Kongba Ucheckon, Imphal East on Tuesday.

The arrested persons have been identified as one Laishram Ibungo Singh, 27, son of late L Jiten Singh and Pangambam Dinesh Singh, 35, son of late P Jadumani Singh, both from Kongba Ucheckon near Social Youth Club, Imphal East.

Police said the team arrested Ibungo while conducting a search operation at Kongba and admitted being a vehicle lifter with Dinesh.

The police team immediately rushed to the residence of Dinesh and conducted search operation during which one two-wheeler (Apache) and different vehicle engines were detected, the police said.

The police team seized the detected vehicles and engines and arrested Dinesh from his residence and one laptop; two mobile phones were also seized.

The arrested persons, along with the seized goods, have been handed over to Irilbung police station for further legal action.
