SPDPO, DDAM, JAC to accept body of N Ingocha

DDAM advisor Kiran Yendrembam told the media at the Manipur Press Club in Majorkhul, Imphal on Wednesday that Nongthombam Ingocha, 55, son of N Mani of Langthabal Lep Mayai Leikai was killed by some unknown miscreants on March 6.

The State Platform of Disabled People Organisations (SPDPO) and Disable Development Association Manipur (DDAM), while appreciating the swift action of the state police, have announced their decision to accept the body of Nongthombam Ingocha.

DDAM advisor Kiran Yendrembam told the media at the Manipur Press Club in Majorkhul, Imphal on Wednesday that Nongthombam Ingocha, 55, son of N Mani of Langthabal Lep Mayai Leikai was killed by some unknown miscreants on March 6.

Following the incident, the Police acted swiftly under superintendent of police, Imphal West leading to the arrest of three culprits who were remanded for 6 days police custody, he added.

Kiran said that following the swift action of Manipur Police, people of the state have regained trust in the state police.

He also informed that the joint organisations demanded that the culprits be not released on bail and along with the JAC formed in connection with the incident announced not to accept the body.

However, following the positive steps from Manipur Police, the joint organisation along with JAC will accept the body of Ingocha on Thursday morning from RIMS morgue for the last rite.

He further appealed to the state police to add more IPC sections to the culprits so that they cannot escape from the law of the country.
