Social service, tree plantation held along Ipum Pat

Students and faculties of Ideal Teachers' Training Academy (ITTA), Sajiwa, planted tree saplings along the stretch of Ipum Pat.

A one-day social service camp was held along the stretch of Ipum Pat at Khurai Konsam Leikai in Imphal East under the theme "Innovative ways to conserve water".

Organised by the Ideal Teachers' Training Academy (ITTA), Sajiwa, as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav, tree saplings were also planted along the stretch of Ipum Pat by the students and faculties of the institute.

Speaking to the media, principal of the institute, Yengkhom Rajan, stressed the importance of environment conservation concerning global warming and other ecological degradation which have become a global issue.

Informing that such social service has become a routine activity of ITTA community since January, he said that such initiative has been taken up as a contribution towards fighting climate changes.
