The Slopeland Public School of Khongjom Salt Village in Thoubal district celebrated its 20th foundation day at the amphitheatre of the school on Wednesday.
The event was attended by Mutuwa Museum Imphal director Mutuwa Bahadur, founder and principal of Slopeland Public School Nahakpam Babulin Meitei, and guest faculty of Manipuri University of Culture Mutum Maniton as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Babulin said that the school has produced many excellent students who braved the challenges of the society, and the school is on its way to be the best school in India.
The Slopeland College of Teachers Education was opened at the Slopeland Public School under the Manipuri University in 2014, he recalled. With the addition of BBA and BCA courses the Slopeland Group of Institution aims to train the youth in different life skills and various vocational courses, he added.
As part of the occasion, the students organised cultural dance and song competitions, and paid floral tribute to photos of late founders Nahkpam Tomba Meitei and Nahakpam Ongbi Rupobati. The school authorities and the students presented gifts to the founding members and associates of the school.
