In a show of support to the injured volunteers who have been defending against the alleged attacks of Kuki militants, the Nambol Block Congress Committee (NBCC) organised a blood donation camp at JNIMS in Imphal on Monday.

The blood donation camp aimed to facilitate the injured volunteers by providing them with the much-needed blood transfusions.

A total of 120 Congress volunteers came forward to donate blood during the camp. Due to limitations based on the protocol followed by JNIMS, only 50 volunteers were able to donate blood on the day of the camp.

Recognising the importance of supporting all volunteers, the JNIMS authority has committed to scheduling another date to accommodate the remaining 70 volunteers who were unable to donate blood during the initial camp.

Former MPCC president N Loken who led the blood donation camp addressed the media and emphasised that those injured in the ongoing crisis are not merely individuals but individuals fighting to safeguard the territoral integrity of Manipur.

He stressed that facilitating the injured volunteers is the responsibility of all citizens and commended the NBCC for organising the blood donation camp as a show of support to the fight for Manipur's integrity.

Responding to political accusations leveled by the BJP against the Congress party regarding the present unrest, Loken expressed said, "It is indeed a shame that the BJP is playing politics at this critical juncture."

He further criticised the BJP legislators for failing to exert pressure on the central government to restore peace in Manipur, urging them to set a deadline for action.

Loken added that the ruling MLAs should even threaten resignation if the Centre refuses to take appropriate action.
