Security personnel, villagers plant tree saplings at Khudengthabi village in Tengnoupal

Khudengthabi AR personnel organised a tree plantation drive at Khudengthabi village to commemorate the 75th years of Independence Day celebration.

COB Khudengthabi of Tengnoupal Battalion under the aegis of HQ 26 Sect AR on Friday organised a tree plantation drive at Khudengthabi village to commemorate the 75th years of Independence Day celebration of India.

The villagers along with troops of AR planted around 200 saplings of various species of plants near village Khudengthabi close to the NH-102.

The fruits bearing and shade-giving plants were provided by the sub divisional forest office, Moreh.

The villagers of Khudengthabi expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Assam Rifles for providing such plants which will help them in the near future for their livelihood and to protect the environment.

The programme culminated with informal interactions to know the problem of villagers followed by light refreshments. The village chief also expressed his appreciation for this noble gesture by 20 Assam Rifles.

Also, the battalion organised a friendly Football Match between the AR personnel and Khudengthabi youth club on August 10 as a mark of India's 75 years of Independence Day. Sports materials were also presented to the youths of the village and tri-colour flags were also distributed to the villagers.
