The Sahitya Thoupang Lup (SATHOULUP) will present a Sangai Award to the Environmental Social Reformation and Sangai Protection Forum, Keibul Lamjao on November 25 at the JN Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal.
SATHOULUP stated in a release on Tuesday that as a part of Manipur Sangai Festival 2022, Imphal Literature Festival will be organised by SATHOULUP in association with the state government from November 25.
In connection with the literature, SATHOULUP is set to present an award for the first time to an organization which is playing an active role in protection of Sangai from extinction.
The name of award is Sangai Award and it will be presented to the Environmental Social Reformation and Sangai Protection Forum, Keibul Lamjao acknowledging their work, it stated.
The award will be presented by Education minister Th Basantakumar.
Deputy Director of Bangla Academy, Bangladesh Dhaka, Md Sahadat Hossain, renowned Srilankan writer, Ayathurai Santhan and zonal director (NE) for ICCR, Munish Ningthoujam will also attend the award ceremony.
