Repoll in Manipur today at 11 polling stations

Repoll to be held at 11 polling stations in Inner Manipur on Monday from 7 am to 5 pm.

The Returning Officer of Inner Manipur parliamentary constituency Th Kirankumar who is also DC Imphal West has issued a notification for repoll in 11 polling stations as per directive of the Election Commission of India.

The polling stations are 3/11- Sajeb (A) and 3/21-Khurai Thongam Leikai under 3-Khurai Assembly Segment where the repoll will be held at Moirangkampu Sajeb Upper Primary School and S. Ibobi Primary School (East Wing), Khurai Thongam Leikai respectively.

Under 4-Kshetrigao Assembly Segment, the repoll will be conducted for polling station 4/43-Bamon Kampu (North-A) at Bamon Kampu Upper Primary School; 4/44-Bamon Kampu (North-B) at Pioneer Academy; 4/45-Bamon Kampu (South West) at Irilbung High School (North Wing) and 4/46-Bamon Kampu (South East) at Irilbung High School (South Wing).

Under the 5-Thongju Assembly Segment, fresh polling will be held for polling station 5/31-Khongman Zone-V(A) at National Children’s School.

Under 10-Uripok Assembly Segment, the repoll is to be carried out for polling station 10/1-Iroishemba at Iroisemba Upper Primary School (Eastern Wing); 10/6-Iroishemba Mamang Leikai at Iroisemba Upper Primary School (Western Wing); 10/7-Iroishemba Mayai Leikai at Iroisemba Upper Primary School (Middle Wing).

Under 18-Konthoujam Assembly Segment, a repoll will be held for polling station 18/22-Khaidem Makha at Khaidem Primary School (Southern Wing).

Following the ECI’s orders for fresh polls at a total of 11 polling stations in the I-Inner Manipur parliamentary constituency on Monday, office of the District election Officer/DC, Imphal East has announced that repoll for the district will be held at 7 polling stations.

A notice issued by District Election Officer/DC, Imphal East District, Khumanthem Diana Devi on Sunday informed that the ECI has announced the poll taken on April 19 in the 7 polling stations to be void, adding that repoll will be held on Monday from 7 am to 5 pm.

The same is issued in pursuance to notice No. 123/RO/1-1MPC/RE-POLL/LSE/2024 dated April 20 of the Returning Officer, 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, it stated.

The notice also mentioned the details of the assembly segments, polling station and polling station building. For 3-Khurai, polling stations are 3/11-Sajeb (A) and 3/21-Khurai Thongam Leikai being set up at Moirangkampu Sajeb Upper Primary School and S Ibobi Primary School (East Wing), Khurai Thongam Leikai respectively; polling stations for 4-Kshetrigao are 4/43-Bamon Kampu (North-A) at Bamon Kampu Upper Primary School, 4/44-Bamon Kampu (North-B) at Pioneer Academy, 4/45-Bamon Kampu (South West) at Irilbung High School (North Wing) and 4/46-Bamon Kampu (South East) at Irilbung High School (South Wing).

It also added that the polling station for 5-Thongu is 5/31-Khongman Zone-V (A), located at National Children’s School. It further appealed to the voters of the concerned polling areas to come out in large numbers to exercise their franchise, as per instructions given in the Handbook for Returning Officers, 2023.

Meanwhile, Returning officer, 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Th Kirankumar on Friday notified that the reserve Strong Rooms of 10-Uripok and18-Konthoujam Assembly Segments located at Deputy Commissioners Office Complex, Lamphelpat under Imphal West will be opened on Sunday at 5 pm for dispatch to polling stations and polled Strong Rooms will be reopened and closed after fresh-poll on Monday.

The notification is issued in pursuance of the press release issued by chief electoral officer, Manipur vide No. AA-101/1/2021-ELEC-ED on Friday read with para 1, Chapter-13 of the Manual on Electronic Voting Machine, 2023, it stated.

It requested the deputation of two representatives duly authorised to be present at the time of draw of EVMs, opening and closing of the Strong Rooms.
