Manipur Chief Minister N Biren on Monday joined the nation in remembering Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary - January 30, and paid tribute to the Father of the Nation.
"Remembering the father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on his death anniversary. His ideals of Ahimsa & Satyagraha continue to inspire millions. The Swach Bharat Abhiyan, launched by Hon'ble PM,@narendramodi ji, follows Bapu's vision of keeping the country clean," Biren said in a Twitter post.
Born on October 2, 1869, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on January 30, 1948 in Delhi. He was 78.
Biren, meanwhile, arrived in Agartala on Monday to attend the nomination filing of BJP candidates of the Tripura State Legislative Election along with Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
