The victims of Moreh fire incidents and the bereaved family of two brothers who died in an antique bomb explosion were provided with relief materials by state BJP spokesperson HS Benjamin Mate on Thursday.
The former BJP Outer Manipur MP candidate visited the victims of Moreh fire incidents and provided one quintal of rice and utensils to the entire five households whose houses were damaged in the fire incident on the intervening night of September 29 and 30. He also assured them to extend any possible help in getting relief materials from the authority concerned. Five houses, including Netaji English High School and office building of the Zou Presbyterian Church at Gamnom veng, Moreh W/No 2 were damaged by inferno around 12:40 am of September 30.
Later, he visited the bereaved parents of the two brothers who lost their lives in the antique bomb explosion at Gangte Veng, Moreh W/No.9. He provided one quintal of rice, utensils and Rs 5,000. He also assured the family that he would extend help in getting any possible compensation from the government.
The two brothers, Lalsangmuon Gangte, 23 and Lenkhogin Gangte, 21, sons of (Late) Thangminlen Gangte, were killed when an antique bomb exploded all of a sudden on September 29. Reportedly the bomb was detected by the brothers while ploughing their land at the backyard of their house. They died at the spot.
