Raw materials for making liquor seized in Jiribam

DSP S Gourachand Singh said that the team seized the items and arrested the alcohol manufacturers from different places in Jiribam district, as part of the liquor inspection drive.

A team of Jiribam district police under the supervision of SP Ksh Rabikumar Singh on Friday conducted an inspection drive at various places in Jiribam, and seized yeast and other raw materials used to make alcohol.

Speaking on the occasion, DSP S Gourachand Singh said that the team seized the items and arrested the alcohol manufacturers from different places in Jiribam district, as part of the liquor inspection drive.

He added that the seized items were handed over to the police station, and continued that the arrested individuals were released after a non-bailable FIR had been filed. He mentioned that the inspection drive will be continued at various places in Jiribam.

The inspection drive was attended by additional SP (law and order) Imanuel Fimate, DSP S Gourachand Singh, OC Jiribam H Devenkishore Singh, SDPO Jiribam Ts Chamna Anal and other police personnel.

Meanwhile, a team of Jiribam district police under the supervision of SP Ksh Rabikumar Singh disposed liquor and raw materials used to make alcohol at Solid Waste Management Processing Site of Jiribam Municipal Council at Chingdong leikai, Jiribam district on Thursday.

The event was attended by Jiribam district police officers and personnel, Jiribam Municipal Council executive officer M Surjit Singh, members of Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) along with local Meira Paibi.

Speaking on the occasion, SDPO Ts Chamna Anal urged the public to support the movement to eradicate consumption of alcohol.
