The womenfolk of Pallel Maning Leikai in Kakching on Tuesday demonstrated a sit-in protest, condemning the transfer order of the Public Health Centre (PHC) Medical Officer (MO) in-charge to Community Health Centre (CHC) Kakching.
The Pallel Apunba Meira Paibi Lup along with the local women of Pallel Maning Leikai demonstrated the sit-in protest condemning the order issued by the chief medical officer, Kakching Thoudem Rajen for the transfer of Khangembam Gopeshwar (AYUSH) from PHC Pallel MO in-charge to CHC Kakching MO in-charge.
During the protest, Pallel Apunba Meira Paibi Lup secretary Y Anita said that as the MO in charge of the PHC Pallel, Khangembam Gopeshwar had been treating the people of Pallel and the nearby regions with care. As he worked with the people compassionately, the people will not be able to accept the transfer order, she added. She urged the authorities concerned to withdraw the transfer order and cautioned to launch strong agitations if their demand is not met.
In the sit-in protest, the protesters displayed placards which read ‘the people of Pallel condemn the transfer of PHC MO in-charge' and ‘Withdraw the transfer of PHC Pallel MO in charge’ etc.
