Poster campaign launched in Imphal East

The poster campaign was organised to educate the public about the harmful impact of drugs.

Committee for War on Drugs, Khundrakpam Kendra, in association with district police, Imphal East, on Wednesday conducted a poster campaign on ‘War on Drugs 2.0 at Pangei bazar.

Speaking on the sideline of the campaign, superintendent of police, Imphal East district, Ksh Shivakanta said Khundrakpam is located at the joining areas of hills and valleys. He said some of the valley people were also found involved in transporting poppy.

He said those who are drug abusers but wanted to come to mainstream can also contact the committee and district police.

He appealed to the people not to be involved in such activities which are against the society and called on the locals and club members for cooperation in removing drugs from the state in order to save the society from drugs.

President of the Committee for War On Drugs, Khundrakpam Kendra, Wahengbam (O) Premila said the poster campaign was organised to educate the public about the harmful impact of drugs.

As a part of the campaign, SP, Imphal East launched the poster campaign at Pangei Bazaar.

The poster read “Stop Poppy Plantation; Save Our Generation; Save our Life and No to Drugs Yes to Life”.
