PM Kisan Samman Samelan cum Rabi Campaign 2022 launched in Imphal East

At the KVK, Andro, Imphal East event, around 250 farmers are participating in the programme.

PM Kisan Samman Samelan cum Rabi Campaign-2022 was launched at the campus of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Andro, Imphal East on Monday.

The programme is organised by KVK, Andro, Imphal East, Directorate of Extension Education under the aegis of Central Agricultural University (CAU).

Speaking to media on the side-line, director of extension education, CAU, Imphal professor Ph Ranjit Singh said similar programmes are being organised at various parts of the country with the main function organised at New Delhi in which around 15,000 farmers are participating.

He said there are six colleges in the entire northeastern states which are affiliated to CAU, Imphal and similar programmes are also being organised in respective colleges.

At the KVK, Andro, Imphal East event, around 250 farmers are participating in the programme.

As a part of the programme, Rabi campaign was launched and Rabi seeds were distributed to the farmers located under the jurisdiction of KVK, Imphal East.

Senior scientist and head in-charge of KVK, Andro, Imphal East, S Molibala Devi informed that on the day of the main function organised at New Delhi where Prime Minister, Narendra Modi addressed the gathering.

During the programme, PM launched “Bharat”, a branded Urea which will be made available at private fertilizer’s shop under PMKVY. The PM also launched a direct transfer benefit of installment under PM Kisan, she added.

During the programme held at New Delhi, some selected farmers participated and among them one woman farmer from KVK, Andro, Imphal East also participated, said Molibala.

She further said that with the launching of Rabi campaign, dais members of the programme conducted at the campus of KVK, Andro, Imphal East, distributed Rabi crops to be planted at 1 hectare area.

As a part of the programme an exhibition cum kisan mela was also launched under “Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain at the same campus.
