Early Thursday morning, an order issued by the District Magistrate of Imphal West clamped curfew restrictions in the whole of Imphal West district from 5 am onwards only to be retracted later on.
The first order issued by DM i/c on February 28 and received early morning on Thursday said, curfew restrictions had been imposed effective from 5 am of February 29 and public are advised not to move out from their residences.
However, another order issued on the same date said restriction of movement of public outside their residences is lifted for February 29 from 5 am to 10 pm.
The restrictions shall not include any gathering or sit-in-protests or rally without prior permission.
Meanwhile, curfew is relaxed in Thoubal district from 5 am till 10 pm, while curfew in Bishnupur district has also been relaxed from 5 am till 5 pm for Thursday with conditions.
Thoubal district magistrate, A Subash Singh, in an order on Wednesday said that unauthorised gathering of four or more persons and carrying of arms, sticks, stones, and other weapons is prohibited.
It also stated that all persons belonging to essential services such as Health, PHED, MSPDCL/MSPCL, CAF and PD, municipalities, print and electronic media, to and fro movement of flight passengers to airport and functioning of courts will be exempted from further Imposition of curfew after the expiry of said period of relaxation.
An order issued by District Magistrate/DC, Bishnupur, Manipur, Lourembam Bikram said that no person shall carry any arms of any kind during the period of relaxation for inciting violence such as sticks, stones, and firearms without a valid License, weapons, or objects of any description, which can be used as offensive weapons.
