Online essay competition on customary laws alcoholism, substance abuse

In view of the present COVID-19 pandemic in the nation and increasing domestic violence in Northeast India, the competition aims to empower the women of the Northeast states.

The Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) will be organising a state-level Online Essay Competition on the theme, ‘Customary laws, alcoholism, substance abuse: A high voltage for domestic violence in Northeast India’

In view of the present COVID-19 pandemic in the nation and increasing domestic violence in Northeast India, the competition aims to empower the women of the Northeast states and a platform to build up gender equality across the country and showcasing their thoughts provoking ideas into realities.

MSCW chairperson professor Meinam Binota notified on Wednesday that all the essays must be sent by email to mscwimphal2k17@gmail.com with a word limit of 1500- 2000 words in a PDF format only and the participants can use English, Bengali and Meitei Mayek medium as a language.

Students in colleges, universities, research students, human rights activists, civil society organisations and social activists will be eligible to participate in the competition.

A sum of Rs, 10,000, 7000, 5000 plus certificates will be awarded to the competitors who secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the competition. Rs. 1000 each and certificates will be awarded to competitors securing 4th to 10 position in the competition.
