For the first time, the Naga People's Front (NPF) made a clean sweep in the three assembly constituencies of 43-Phungyar, 44- Ukhrul and 45-Chingai, under Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, in the 12th Manipur Assembly election 2022.
The NPF winners are Leishiyo Keishing of Nambashi Khullen village in 43-Phungyar AC under Kamjong district, Ram Muivah of Muirei village in 44-Ukhrul AC and Khashim Vashum of Tusom CV village in 45-Chingai AC under Ukhrul district.
In Ukhrul AC, of the 40,073 votes, Ram Muivah won with 15,503 total votes, defeating Alfred Kanngam S Arthur of INC who got 14,561. Shomatai Shaiza of BJP got 9,961, and NOTA was 48.
In Chingai AC, of the 40,898 total votes, Khashim Vashum of NPF won with 12, 837 votes, beating Ningam Chamroy of NPP who got 10,501 votes. Preshow MK Shimray of BJP got 9,349 votes. Sword Vashum of INC got 8150 votes, while 61 votes fell under NOTA.
In Phungyar AC, of the 30,838 total votes, Leishiyo Keishing got 11,642 votes, while Awung Shimray Hopingson of BJP got 10863 votes, Victor Keishing of INC got 7,453 votes, Wungnaoshang Kasar got 693 and 33 votes was under NOTA.
