The seven Kachai District Council Committee (DCC) of Naga People’s Front (NPF), Ukhrul district held a one-day political awareness camp at Kachai village under Chingai assembly constituency on Tuesday.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA Khashim Vashum announced that he is starting his first political camp from Kachai and thanked villagers for their support.
Vashum stressed the need to elect more NPF candidates in the state assembly, and urged voters of Chingai, Ukhrul and Phungyar assembly constituencies to elect NPF candidates in the three assembly constituencies. NPF is not only for development but stands for the political rights of the Nagas, he said.
Mentioning that work for constructing a 33 KV power substation for Kachai would be taken up at the earliest, Vashum said, “Water supply scheme for Sagolmang area will soon be implemented at the earliest.”
In almost all the villages under Chingai assembly constituency, water supply had been earmarked, he further said, adding Peh and Paorei were the only two villages that had not received the allocation.
However, under North East Council, a bigger project had been applied, he added.
President, NPF, Ukhrul division, Wungnaoshang A Shimray appealed to all to support the NPF and maintained that the party stands for the Naga cause.
Pastor reverend Ngavaophung Raikhan of Theikhor baptist church thanked MLA Khashim for providing bulldozer service for the construction of the Church.
The political awareness camp was attended by working president, Central Kohima, NPF Samuel Risom; Phalee DCC former ADC member Thanchipem Jagoi; ADC member Khayinhor, neighbouring villages, party workers and villagers.
