A ‘Nata Sankirtana Festival’ was organised by K Ibotombi Cultural Academy (KICA), Charangpat Maklang Mamang Leikai, Thoubal district at the community hall of Chrangpat Mamang Leikai on Thursday.
The inaugural event of the festival organised under the aegis of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi was attended by Charangpat Gram Panchayat pradhan S Imo as the chief guest, Charangpat High school head master S Inaobi as the president and social worker Oinam Chakrabati as the guest of honour.
At the occasion, KICA founder K Nongyai highlighted the achievements of the academy. The speakers of the event talked on the importance of preserving the Nata Sankirtana art form.
Students of KICA presented ‘Nata Sankirtana’ as a part of the festival.
Certificates were also distributed to the students of the academy for their outstanding achievements in different fields like ‘pung’, ‘arangpham’ and others.
