Muslim women group condemns killing of woman

AMMGSU president Singamayum Samina Sheikh said that the death of Nargish should not be taken lightly as she was found dead in a suspicious manner.

All Manipur Muslim Girls Student’s Union (AMMGSU) on Tuesday condemned the killing of Korimayum Nargish, 21, daughter of K Ahmed Ali of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai, who went missing untill her body was found by a river bank on Monday.

Speaking at a press meet held at AMMGSU office located at Hatta Golapati, president of AMMGSU Singamayum Samina Sheikh said that the death of Nargish should not be taken lightly as she was found dead in a suspicious manner. Her body was left by miscreants in such a manner that it gave the appearance as if she had committed suicide, she said. The police should arrest the culprit as soon as possible, she added.

AMMGSU will stand against harassment and violence on women; it will give full support and cooperation to any decision taken by the JAC, she added. AMMGSU further urged other organisations, associations to extend full support.
