MSPDCL appeals for clearance of dues

MSPDCL, in a release, said the company is facing considerable revenue loss and has huge payable outstanding dues of generation companies for power purchase.

The Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) on Monday appealed to all post-paid consumers to clear their outstanding dues on time failing which, the company forewarned, it will disconnect power supply without prior notice.

MSPDCL, in a release, said the company is facing considerable revenue loss and has huge payable outstanding dues of generation companies for power purchase. It asserted that, as such Power regulations (disconnections) from the generating companies is very imminent.

The company is required to achieve high revenue realisation and elimination of unauthorised/illegal use of electricity through meter by-passing, hooking, meter tampering and unauthorised connection etc to ensure reliable 24X7 power supply to the consumers, it said.

It further stated that officials of MSPDCL have started disconnecting power supply to defaulters having outstanding dues, detection of unauthorised consumers and illegal uses of electric power supply. It warned that any person (s) found using electric power illegally, manipulating energy meters, hooking from distribution lines etc will be booked as per the provisions of the Indian Electricity Act,2003.

It also mentioned that MSPDCL will begin recovery from those consumers who availed the credit recharge facility of Rupees 1000. The amount will be recovered in part by deducting 20% of the recharge amount from Tuesday till the entire amount has been recovered, it stated. It sought the cooperation of the public to all measures and initiatives taken by the company to ensure reliable power supply to the public.
