While noting that local clubs have been playing a major role in tackling the drug menace the state is facing, the MP appealed to all the local clubs and stakeholders to further the cause of fighting against drugs to save the future generation.

Leishemba maintained that a small state like Manipur, being able to achieve laurels in the field of sports by producing outstanding players in both national and international levels, is due to the contributions made by the local clubs.

Besides, local clubs have been playing a pivotal role in fostering unity among the people and in developmental activities of the society, he said. As such, they need to carry forward with responsibilities. Otherwise, there will hardly be any development in the society, he added.
