The Central government has appointed Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba as chairperson of the State Level Consultative Committee (SLCC) for Food Corporation of India (FCI).
He was appointed as chairperson on the recommendation of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and the non-official members of CAF and PD, Government of India.
A meeting of Manipur SLCC for FCI was conducted at Classic Hotel, Imphal under the chairmanship of Member of Parliament, Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba on Tuesday.
The meeting discussed certain topics such as distribution of food grains under National Food Security Act (NFSA) and other welfare schemes; quality of food grains; storage of food grains in various depots of FCI; inward movement of food grains; transit and storage losses; procurement prospects and interface of the FCI with state government on functioning of the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) including allocation; off-take and actual distribution of food grains for Antyodaya (AAY) and Priority Household (PHH) families and for various welfare schemes being operated by the Central or state government.
The meeting was attended by Manipur SLCC members for FCI namely Moirangthem Rachandra Singh; Langpoklakpam Deben Singh; Nameirakpam Imduboson Singh and from the official side by DGM(R) FCI Manipur, Om Pratap Singh; director (CAF and PD), Robertson Asem, and FCI Officials of Manipur.
