MLA Letzamang Haokip assures Jai Jeevan Mission implementation by 2024

The MLA told the PHED officials to implement the scheme diligently and warned of stringent action to corrupt contractors to the tune of termination or removal from contractorship.

MLA Letzamang Haokip of Henglep AC on Friday called a meetings of village Chiefs of the area, the EE of PHED and his subordinate, the contractor and Subcontractor who are working under the Jai Jeevan Mission (JJM) and assured them of safe drinking water for all under PM of India programme in the constituency.

The meeting, held at B Vengnuam Community Hall, was held following the reports of grievances by the Kuki Chief Association, Churachandpur regarding JJM where the MLA said that the mission was to provide save and educate drinking water by 2024 which will improve the health and socio-economic conditions of the rural population that will also bring down the drudgery of women and girls.

The MLA took reports from the chief association telling them he was all for it and told the PHED officials to implement the scheme diligently and warned of stringent action to corrupt contractors to the tune of termination or removal from contractorship.

“I will leave no stone unturned for the people to get safe and adequate drnking water and appealed to the officials of PHED to help me in realising this dream,” the MLA said.

More than 60 chiefs from Henglep AC attended the meeting.
