Ministerial team visits Tupul landslide site

A ministerial team led by Health and IPR Minister Dr S Ranjan Singh on Saturday visited the Tupul landslide site where rescue and relief operations were underway.

The ministerial team included CAFPD Minister L Susindro Singh; IPR Minister S Ranjan; Water Resources and Parliamentary Minister Piyush Hazarikaa, officials and staff of health department.

It may be mentioned that high ranking officials of the state government, army and para military forces, state forces, personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other voluntary organisations are relentlessly carrying out the search and rescue operation at the best level.

Speaking to the media at the site, minister Ranjan, said that it is a very unfortunate incident which nobody expected. This natural disaster in the state, causing the loss of lives of many persons, including Territorial Army (TA) personnel, civilians and railway staff and workers has given a shock not only to the people of the state but to all over the country. The state government will extend all possible help in the rescue and search operation, he added.

The ministerial team also had a discussion about the strategies of the ongoing search and rescue operations with experts.
