Minister Henry lays foundation stone for water supply scheme

The beautification work of Ningthem Pukhri Mapal will be undertaken under the Tourism department, Henry said.

Social Welfare Minister O Henry on Saturday laid the foundation stone for Ningthem Pukhri Water Supply scheme (NDB) with 5.45 MLD capacity and overhead tank reservoir at Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal community hall, Imphal.

The government is committed to providing potable water to every household of the state 24x7, said Henry while delivering his speech during the programme.

Necessary steps are being taken up by the PHE department in this regard, he added.

Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Biren for laying the foundation stone of Manipur Water Supply project recently, the minister urged the PHE department and local club to closely monitor and ensure that SOPs are being maintained by the workers during the construction of Ningthem Pukhri Water Supply scheme.

Asserting that beautification work of Ningthem Pukhri Mapal would be undertaken soon under the Tourism department, he sought people’s support and cooperation for the timely completion of the project.

MGM Club president L Angoutombi, PHE department officials and others were present at the function.
