The 7th Prize distribution ceremony for students who scored high marks in Manipuri subject for Tentha was organised by Laiyingthou Sanamahi Thougal Kanglup Masha Loisang Tentha, Thoubal district at Tentha Multiplex in Thoubal district on Sunday.
During the occasion, various prizes were distributed to the students who secured first, second and third position in Manipuri subject for the Tentha region in the recent Class X examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur, and the class XII examination conducted by Council of Higher Secondary School Manipur.
In the prize distribution, ‘Moirangthem Pala Meitei Ningsing Sahitya Mana’, Moirangthem Nokul Meitei Ningsing Sahitya Mana’, and ‘N Thambal Ngou Ningsing Sahitya Mana’ were given to the students who secured first, second and third for class X respectively. While, ‘Tekcham Yaima Meitei Ningsing Sahitya Mana’, ‘M Tombi Leima Ningsing Sahitya Mana’, and an award presented by Lainingthou Sanamahi Thougal Kanglup Masha Loisang were given to the students who secured first, second and third position for class XII respectively. For both class X and class XII, cash awards of Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1, 000, along with certificates each were awarded to the students who secured first, second and third respectively.
The programme was attended by Laiyingthou Sanamahi Thougal Kanglup Masha Loisang Tentha leader Kartik maiba as the president, department of Higher and Technical Education (U), government of Manipur additional director Pangambam Shantikumar as the president, and Slopeland Public School Khongjom principal cum founder Nahakpam Manisang as the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Laiyingthou Sanamahi Thougal Kanglup Masha Loisang Tentha general secretary Sengoi Sanasam said that the prizes distribution ceremony was organised with the objective of conserving the Manipur language.
