Tombi told the media at its state party head office located at Babupara, Imphal on Thursday that during the recent attack upon the state forces in Moreh, a senior state police officer stated in a voice note, which went viral, that Myanmarese speaking Kuki militants are attacking the state forces. The voice note claimed that the militants are using sophisticated weapons of war, he said.  

“Why is the Central government and Kuldiep not accepting the fact that Myanmarese Kuki militants are involved in the present crisis? What is the hidden agenda of the Central government and Kuldiep Singh. We do not want another Seven Years Devastation,” Tombi said.

He said the people of Manipur do not trust the Central government and the chairmanship of the unified command Kuldiep Singh.

He urged that regardless of whether the BJP comes along or not, all the political parties should jointly knock the door of the Centre, demanding to replace Kuldiep Singh from the chairmanship of unified command with someone who is well aware of the situation in Manipur, he added.

Meanwhile, the state president of the political party along with some of its members submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah; Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey; chief minister of Maharashtra Eknath Sambaji Shinde and chief minister N Biren Singh demanding to fulfill four point charter of demands.

The demands included making a proper barrier/ fencing along the 398 km international border India (Manipur) and Myanmar; establishment of national highway protection force on both NH-37 and NH-102; withdrawal of SoO with Kuki militants in Manipur and immediate reshuffle of chairman of unified command of Manipur to the state government.

The memorandum was submitted through the Governor of Manipur on Wednesday evening.
