Manipur has recorded a total of 215 dengue cases, including a death, as per the official report on Friday.
One Sanabam Bungcha, resident of Yairipok Yambem, Thoubal district, was infected with dengue and later succumbed to his illness on Monday after getting treatment.
As per officials, of the total 215 dengue cases in the state at present, Imphal West has 123 cases; Imphal East 32 cases; Bishnupur 16 cases; Chandel two cases; Tengnoupal eight cases; Churachandpur four cases; Thoubal 19 cases; Kangpokpi five cases, Kakching four cases, while Senapati and Noney reported one case each.
Among the 11 districts, Imphal West recorded the highest confirmed cases of dengue followed by Imphal East and Thoubal district respectively.
State Health and Family Welfare Minister S Ranjan appealed during the launch of Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) to maintain proper hygiene by cleaning the surroundings clean to avoid mosquito breeding and to wash hands properly.
