Manipur Polls: After scrutiny, nominations of all 56 candidates in Imphal West accepted

The scrutiny of candidates for the first phase of Manipur Assembly Election 2022 were conducted at separate halls inside DC office complex, Imphal West in the presence of concerned returning officers, officials, candidates and their agents.

Nominations of all 56 candidates in Imphal West district have been validated after scrutiny of candidates for the first phase of Manipur Assembly Election, which ended on Wednesday.

Thangmeiband assembly constituency: Nominations of all three candidates--Jotin Waikhom of BJP, Hijam Nutachandra Singh of INC and Khumukcham Joykisan Singh of JD-U--were accepted.

Uripok assembly constituency: Nominations of all candidates--Nunglepam Mahananda Singh of INC, Yumnam Joykumar Singh of NPP, Khombongmayum Suresh Singh of JD-U and Khwairakpam Raghumani Singh of the BJP were accepted as valid.

Sagolband assembly constituency: Nominations of all three candidates--Moirangthem Momo Singh of INC, Rajkumar Imo Singh of BJP and D Khwairakpam Loken Singh of JD-U were declared valid.

Keishamthong assembly constituency: Nominations of all candidates--Maheshwor Thounaojam of RPI (A), Elangbam Samuel Johnson of BJP, independent candidate Sapam Nishikant Singh, Aribam Pamodini Devi of INC and Langpoklakpam Jayanta Kumar Singh of NPP were declared valid.

Singjamei assembly constituency: Nominations of Yumnam Khemchand Singh (BJP), Irengbam Hemochandra Singh (INC), Oinam Romen Singh (NPP) and Ngangbam Robert Singh of JD-U were declared valid.

Sekmai (SC) constituency: Nominations of all eight candidates were accepted. The candidates are Heikham Dingo Singh (BJP), Ayangbam Oken Singh (JD-U), Khwairakpam Robin Singh (Ind), Khaidem Ranjit Singh (Shiv Sena), Maharabam Anita Devi (Ind), Ningthoujam Biren Singh (INC), Ningthoujam Popilal Singh (NCP) and Khwairakpam Devendro Singh of JD-U.

Lamsang assembly constituency: Nominations of all five candidates have been declared valid after scrutiny. The candidates are Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh of the BJP, Pukhrambam Sumati Devi of NPP, Independent candidate Arambam Karamjit Singh, Khundrakpam Kanba Meitei of JD(U) and Likmabam Manibabu Singh of INC.

Konthoujam assembly constituency: Nominations of all five candidates Konthoujam Sharat Singh of NPP, Khoirom Binarani Devi of NCP, Laishram Nando Singh of INC, Sapam Ranjan Singh of BJP and Nongmaithem Herojit Singh of JD- U were declared valid.

Patsoi assembly constituency: Nominations of all candidates Akoijam Mirabai Devi of INC, RK Rameshwar Singh of NPP, Sapam Kunjakeswor (Keba) Singh of BJP and Wakambam Ibomcha Singh of JD-U were declared valid. From Langthabal assembly constituency, all five nominations have been declared valid. The candidates are Okram Joy Singh of the INC, Independent candidate Hijam Somarendro Singh, Karam Nabakishor Singh of the NPP, Independent candidate Pukhrambam Somojit Singh and BJP candidate Karam Shyam.

Naoriya Pakhanglakpa assembly constituency: Nominations of all candidates Soibam Subhaschandra Singh of the NPP, Soraisham Manaoton Singh of the INC, Konthoujam Manoranjam Singh of the JD-U and Sagolshem Kebi Devi of BJP were accepted.

22-Wangoi assembly constituency: Nominations of all three candidates were declared valid. The candidates are Oinam Lukhoi Singh of the BJP, Salam Joy Singh of the INC and Khuraijam Loken Singh of the NPP.

Mayang Imphal AC: Nominations of all three candidates Urikhimbam Ramesh Singh of the NPP, Khumujam Ratankumar Singh of the INC and Kongkham Robindro Singh of the BJP were accepted.

Scrutiny of nomination papers were conducted at separate halls inside DC office complex, Imphal West in the presence of concerned returning officers, officials, candidates and their agents.

The last date for withdrawal of candidature for the first phase poll slated for February 27 is February 11.
