Altogether, 12 candidates from Thoubal and Kakching districts filed their nomination for the ensuing 2nd phase of the 12th Manipur general assembly election to be held on March 3, 2022, as six more filed nominations on Monday.
On the third day of nomination filing for the upcoming election six candidates from Thoubal district had submitted their nomination file to their respective return officers. With six assembly constituencies from Thoubal district and four from Kakching district, a total of 22 assembly constituencies will be partaking in the second phase of the 12th Manipur general assembly election.
Former minister of Wangkhem assembly constituency Nimaichand Luwang have submitted his nomination file as RPI (A) candidate to returning officer Mayengbam Ranjeeta Devi, while former minister of Heirok assembly constituency INC candidate Moirangthem Okendro and former minister of Wangjing Tentha assembly constituency INC candidate Moirangthem Hemanta has submitted their nomination file to returning officer Ksh Umananda Singh.
Candidates of Hiyanglam assembly constituency of Kakching district, BJP candidate MLA Yumnam Radheshyam, NPP candidate Maibam Dhanabir and INC candidate Huidrom Jiten submitted their respective nomination file to returning officer M Kapajit.
The last day for the filing of nomination is February 11 while the scrutiny of the candidates will be on February 14 and the last day of withdrawal of nomination is February 16.
