Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba has announced a helpline number for the public to share their opinion and strengthen various local ‘Singlup’ (institutions and organisations) to bring about a change in the society.
In a press note issued and signed by Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba on Tuesday, the MP mentioned that since time immemorial different institutions and organisations have been set up at respective local levels for the development of society.
"One of the most beautiful things about setting up local institutions or organisations is that individuals join them voluntarily for the welfare of the society. It is needed to strengthen the institutions and organisations at the local level for a better society," the MP said.
Most of the households in the state join local ‘Singlup’ and likewise a cumulative effort from the public is needed to root out drug related issues that has been increasing gradually despite various efforts made by the present government, it added.
There is a possibility that Manipur might get notorious in drug related issues despite the state known for its sportsmanship and unique culture. To protect the identity of Manipur for its good sportsmanship and unique culture, strengthening of various institutions and organisations at local level is necessary, the MP said.
To bring a good society people can give written suggestions to the office of Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba or can contact helpline number 0385-2442009. If necessary, he will press the state government to take necessary steps for the welfare of the state, the MP said.
