Manipur: Man lynched in Churachandpur

A 32-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by miscreants at Changpikot Village in Churachandpur district on Monday midnight.

A 32-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by miscreants at Changpikot Village under the Churachandpur police station in Churachandpur district on Monday midnight.

The victim has been identified as one Demkhomang Haokip, 32, son of late Konkhomang Haokip from New Boljol Village, Churachandpur district.

According to police, the elder brother of the deceased, Demkholun Haokip, 48, lodged a complaint in connection with the incident to the Churachandpur police station. He alleged that miscreants who assaulted his brother were from Changpikot Village, it stated.

It mentioned the Churachandpur police had registered a case regarding the incident. The body was received by the bereaved family after a post mortem was conducted at RIMS mortuary, it added.
