CAF and PD director Robertson Ashem asserted that the alleged seizure of NFSA rice from the Sawombung FCI Depot by none other than Kshetrigao MLA and his supporters constitutes a clear violation of the election model code of conduct.
Addressing the media at the DIPR office in Imphal, the director called for the immediate return of the seized rice to the department, stressing the disruption and inconvenience caused by such actions.
He detailed how the seizure occurred while department officials were diligently engaged in the process of distributing the rice through official channels, highlighting the audacity of the MLA and his supporters’ actions.
Moreover, he revealed that the department has taken decisive action by lodging an FIR in connection with the incident, signaling the gravity of the situation and the department’s commitment to upholding the rule of law.
