Nagaland Tourism Minister Temjen Imna Along called on Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Thursday, wherein they discussed a wide range of issues pertaining to solve the ongoing impasse between the two communities and to restore peace and tranquility in the state.
Minister Along advocated the need to restore mutual understanding and trust among the communities so that a conducive atmosphere for talks would be made, stated a release. He also opined the need to do more on the humanitarian aspects of the displaced victims of both the communities taking shelter in relief camps, it stated.
He further appreciated the efforts made by the governor in the run up for the restoration of peace and normalcy in Manipur, it mentioned.
During the meeting, Governor Uikey asserted that amending the gap and trust deficit between two warring communities and initiating dialogue would be the only means to solve the ongoing impasse, it stated.
She further assured that the Centre and the state government have been making all out efforts to set a viable environment so that both the communities can sit together to enable in solving all impending issues, it added.
