Manipur Governor La Ganesan on Friday extended his tribute on the 54th Martyr's Day of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, stating that Upadhyaya was one of the most distinguished nationalist political thinkers of modern India.
In his message, La Ganesan stated that the tributes to Panjit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his death anniversary is a mark of respect to the great ideologue and the belief that the nation of India is being run on strong principles that were advocated by Pandit Ji throughout his life.
Pandit ji never worked to gain popularity or to be elected as an MP or MLA but worked entirely for the welfare of the nation and lived his life in simplicity, he continued.
“Born on September 15, 1916, in Uttar Pradesh, Deendayal Upadhyaya believed in a self-reliant economy with the village as the base welcoming modern technology adapting to suit Indian requirements,” he stated.
Upadhyaya considered that it was of utmost importance for India to develop an indigenous economic model with a human being at centre stage, he added.
