Manipur Governor La Ganesan has been given the additional charge as Governor of West Bengal following the resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar from the post.

Following it, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday congratulated the governor and extended best wishes to him.
"Heartiest congratulations to Hon'ble Governor of Manipur Shri La. Ganesan Ji on being given the additional charge as Governor of West Bengal. My best wishes for your new endeavour," Biren tweeted on Monday.

Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned as governor of West Bengal and is in the race for India's vice-president post as V-P candidate of the National Democratic Alliance.
