Manipur government re-announces Rs 50,000 ex-gratia assistance to kin of COVID-19 victims

The Supreme Court had issued an order on October 4, 2021 to pay an ex-gratia assistance of Rs 50,000 to the next kin of those who died of COVID-19.

The Manipur government on Tuesday re-announced an ex-gratia assistance of Rs 50,000 to the next of kin of COVID-19 victims. The re-announcement was made in continuation to government notification on December 16, 2021, stated a release issued by the director of Relief and Disaster Management KG Daigong. 

The ex-gratia will be provided after the subject to cause of death being certified as COVID-19 death from the concerned Health department or the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Committee, stated the release.

The ex-gratia will be disbursed by the concerned DDMA or district administration after the concerned families submit their claims through the application form which can be collected from the concerned DC or SDO office or DDMA, it mentioned.

It further informed that the deceased family can also download the application form and can also submit or apply online through the link “http://crm.mn.gov.in/.” and the applicant can also track the progress of their applications online.

For any grievances or complaint in connection to ex-gratia payment, certification of death and others, the deceased family can contact the District Level Committee or Redressal Grievances Committee of the respective districts, it added.
