The Manipur State Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management on Tuesday extended the unlock order of November 20 by another one month, that is till January 20, 2022 and instructed the DCs to make wearing of face masks mandatory at all gatherings. It also directed the SPs to ensure that the order is implemented strictly.
According to an order issued by the chief secretary, it stated that the DCs should issue an order of wearing face masks mandatory, making it a direct responsibility of any event organisers.
It also instructed that the event organiser should issue clear advance instructions to all invitees or participants to wear a face mask and the organiser should also keep spare face masks available at the venue.
Organisers shall assign specific persons to ensure everyone wears face masks, it added.

The order also mentioned that the DCs and SPs should assign duties to SDOs, SDPOs and others to inspect various events or gatherings being organised in their jurisdictions and ensure wearing of face masks by all.
Penalties to be imposed promptly on violators, including the event organiser, the order further mentioned.

The November 20 unlock order listed out the activities that are procedures to be followed in permitted, standard operating respect of opening of educational institutions, social of swimming pools and also gatherings, operation imposing night curfew.
As per the November 20 order, night curfew enforced in the state in view of the COVID-19 pandemic will continue from 10 pm to 4 am.
