A huge consignment of foreign liquor was on Sunday seized by a team of Pallel Police Station led by SI K Shantikumar Singh while conducting frisking and checking at the police station gate. 

A release stated that the consignment of liquor was seized from a vehicle. The seized items consist of 12 bottles of Jack Daniels Whisky (1 litre per bottle), 12 bottles of Bacardi White Rum (1 litre per bottle), 96 bottles of Carlo Rossi Red Wine (750 ml per bottle), it mentioned.

The driver of the vehicle and his co-passenger were arrested, it stated. The seized liquor will be handed over to excise Station Pallel for further action, it continued. 

The driver has been identified as one Md Amir Khan of Sora Karanchi in Kakching district. He took the consignment from DI parking, Moreh and was going to deliver it to Imphal, it added.
