Manipur: First batch of Churachandpur polling teams dispatched

The district election officer, Dharun Kumar, flagged off the first four teams detailed for Sanglel, Khanpi, Songkong and Phaibong polling stations.

Polling officials detailed for duty in four polling stations located at far off places in 57-Henglep assembly constituency for the General Elections to Lok Sabha 2024 were dispersed from Peace Ground on Tuesday.

The district election officer, Dharun Kumar, flagged off the first four teams detailed for Sanglel, Khanpi, Songkong and Phaibong polling stations in the morning.

Two polling personnel at each of the four polling stations were airlifted along with the EVMs in an IAF chopper. The EVMs teams landed at Khanpi polling stations before noon.

At the same time, security teams for the four polling stations and the two polling personnel at each of the four Polling stations have also started moving towards their destinations by road on Tuesday.

Polling teams for 21 polling stations under 57-Henglep assembly constituency and 15 polling stations under 60-Singhat assembly constituency will be dispatched on Wednesday to their respective destinations.

SP, Churachandpur Shaik Mohd Zaib Zakir, additional district election officer Saurabh Yadav and AROs were also present at the flagging off event at Peace Ground.

Four Assembly segments of Churachandpur district under II-Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency are among those which will go to the polls on April 19.
