Manipur: Final round of training, randomisation concludes

Altogether, 23 Micro Observers and 22 Sector Officers (Civil and Police) were imparted training to ensure a free, fair, transparent and peaceful election in the general election to 18th Lok Sabha, 2024 in Jiribam district.

With barely a few days left to go to poll in the second phase of General Election to 18th Lok Sabha, 2024 in respect of the 2-Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency, the final round training on conduct of poll process were conducted in various districts.

Altogether, 23 Micro Observers and 22 Sector Officers (Civil and Police) were imparted training to ensure a free, fair, transparent and peaceful election in the general election to 18th Lok Sabha, 2024 in Jiribam district. The trainees were imparted training by the Master Trainers of District Election Office, Jiribam under the supervision of District Election Officer/Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam, Krishna Kumar, and under the instructions of Election Observer to 2- OM (ST) PC.

During the training session, DEO, Jiribam Krishna Kumar interacted with the trainees and instructed the trainees to follow the rules and procedures strictly on the day of poll.

The training programme was also attended by  assistant returning officer, Jiribam Thokchom Manoranjan Singh, nodal officer training Th Somorendra Singh, Yumlembam Sanathoi, Jr. and Master Trainer Sagolsem Monalisa Devi, assistant professor, Jiri College.

The district election office of Ukhrul called up polling personnel of 44/Ukhrul (st) AC for the third training session which was also the last at UHSS.  

The training session was done in group wise and shifts. Men polling personnel were given hands on practicals while women personnel were given theory class in the morning shift.

The training was given to 324 polling officers out of which 160 were women and 164 were men. DEO/DC of Ukhrul informed that 44-Ukhrul(ST) Assembly Constituency has 71 polling stations. Under this constituency there will be 37 women polling stations and 34 men polling stations.

Kakching district completed the third randomisation of polling personnel for 4(four) Assembly Constituencies and two special polling stations ahead of the 18th Lok Sabha Elections 2024, at the VC room of NIC at DC Office Complex, Thoubal.

The randomisation process was overseen by general observer of the 2-Outer Manipur(ST) Parliamentary Constituency Ujjwal Kumar, DEO Kakching District Rohit Anand, ADC/ADM Kakching Moirangthem Kapajit, ARO Kakching M Ingocha, and ARO Waikhong T Millikan along with other Nodal Officers.

The EVMs and VVPATs Strong Rooms of 36-Wabagai, 37-Kakching, 38-Hiyanglam, and 39-Sugnoo Assembly Constituencies, as well as the two Special Polling Stations will be opened on April 18, 2024 at 7 am at the Mini Secretariat, DC Office Complex, Thoubal for preparation and dispatching for the poll day.
