The Manipur government has announced that there will be no relaxation of curfew in several districts, including Imphal West and East, on Wednesday.

In an order issued earlier, curfew timings for all areas in Imphal East and Imphal West were relaxed from 5 am to 6 pm on Wednesday.

However, the curfew relaxation order was canceled due to the developing law and order conditions as per the latest orders issued by the respective district magistrates.

The movement of persons belonging to essential services such as Health, Electricity, PHED, Petrol Pumps, Schools/Colleges, Municipality, Press and Electronic Media, functioning of courts and movement of flight passengers shall be exempted from the imposition of curfew.

It is believed that the relaxation of curfew has been canceled in view of the plans announced by Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on Monday to push back the current army barricade situated at Phougakchao Ikhai in Bishnupur district to Torbung Wangma.
