Three more COVID-19 patients died, taking the death toll to 32, while 102 new positive cases pushed the positive tally to 6,609 in Manipur on Thursday. The confirmed COVID-19 cases include 1803 active cases and 4774 recoveries, official sources said.
The total active cases include 592 personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). And 27 of the new cases are CAPF personnel, the sources said.
Of the new cases, 14 are from Imphal West, 11 from Imphal East, one from Chandel, four from Bishnupur, 20 from Thoubal, six from Churachandpur, 17 from Tengnoupal and two from Kakching. All the new patients are locals without any significant travel history, a release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated in its 5 pm bulletin. It stated that all the new Covid cases have been shifted to different Covid care facilities in the state and contact tracing and containment measures are in place
The three COVID-19 victims included a 35-year-old male from Bishnupur district, one 61-year-old man from Thoubal district and 63-year-old man from Imphal East at Shija, JNIMS and RIMs respectively. They died of COVID-19 and other co-morbid conditions, Additional Director and spokesperson, Manipur Health Departtmnet, Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang said.
Meanwhile, 167 more patients have been recovered and discharged. With it, the recovery rate now stands at 72.23 per cent.
Miking is being continued in Imphal West. The areas are Uchiwa Leirak Achouba, Masjid Road, Paona Bazar, Lamsang Thing Maning, Lamsang Bazar, Laingamkhul, Taothing khunao, Phayeng Sabal, Sekmai New Market, Wangoi, Nongthoingband, Kanglatombi, Samurou, Hiyanthang, Awang Khunou, Toubungkhok, Tangmeiband, Chingmeirong and North AOC, the release stated.
