Residents of Rangkhung village on Friday agreed to lift the bandh on the Rangkhung Village Diversion road (NH-37) effective immediately, during a joint meeting of affected families, civil organisation leaders, Noney district administration and NHIDCL officials.
Deputy commissioner, Noney welcomed all the members present and stated that National Highway is the lifeline of the state and everyone residing along the stretch should insure its development and maintain it as a public property.
The meeting observed that after careful consideration of the request of the villagers for expansion of the market turning area, and having duly considered their sentiment, the work for cutting of the said area will commence from Saturday morning for 30 metres length and 10 metres width.
The necessary drainage facilities as per drawing and specifications shall be prepared within 72 hours to avoid flooding of the village in the monsoon season from the water coming down the hills at MNB location at Km 66.765.
If necessary, separate corporate social Responsibilities (CSR) may be processed and recommended by PMU, Noney, for the approval of the competent authority of HQ, NHIDCL, as per the meeting.
Having agreed upon the above mentioned points, the villagers agreed to lift the bandh on the Rangkhung Village Diversion road (NH-37) effective immediately.
