Manipur Assembly passes Rs 2461.80 crore as grants

The 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly on Monday passed a total of seven demands.

The House on Monday passed a total of seven demands totalling a sum of Rs 24,618,010,000 as grants on the assembly floor during the ongoing second session of 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly.

The demands were moved on the assembly floor by the leader of the House, N Biren Singh, who is also Chief Minister of Manipur.

The demands included Rs 2201,39,21,000 for Police; Rs 8,24,19,000 for Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department; Rs 35,87,83,000 for Fire Protection and Control; Rs 42,67,78,000 for Jails; Rs 52,51,89,000 for Home Guards; Rs 6,94,32,000 for Rehabilitation and Rs 114,14,88,000 for Relief and Disaster Management.

Among the seven demands moved by the leader of the House, three opposition MLAs raised motion for disapproval of policy cut on two different demands which included Police and Relief and Disaster Management.

After discussion on the two demands, the House passed the demands unanimously.
