The House passed a total sum of Rs 36,074,336,000 as grants on Friday i.e. the fifth day of the second session of 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
On the assembly floor, the leader of the House moved five different demands that included Rs 14,822,255,000 for Medical Health and Family Welfare Services; Rs 4,199,450,000 for Labour and Employment; Rs 7,239,110,000 for the department of Tribal Affairs and Hills Development; Rs 237,87,99,000 for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary including Dairy Farming and Rs 743,47,22,000 for Environment and Forest.
Before the demands moved by the leader of the House, Chief Minister N Biren were passed, four different MLAs from the opposition bench raised a motion for disapproval of policy cut.
After a deliberate discussion of the five different demands, the House unanimously passed the demands.
N Biren Singh also introduced three government bills on the assembly floor.
They included the ‘The Manipur Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Fourth Amendment) Bill, 2022 (Bill No 10 of 2022)’; ‘The Manipur Staff Selection Commission Bill, 2022 (Bill No 5 of 2022)’ and ‘The Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (Seventh Amendment) Bill, 2022 (Bill No 14 of 2022)’.
